I don't want to think of the product in either/or terms.
Think how busy most CIO's are.
When they see what little information they have time to read or hear about Domino, whether from IBM marketing or otherwise, they commonly see Domino and Websphere presented together. It's understandable to see how this can result with some of them concluding that the days of Domino as a viable standalone app/mail server are numbered. But who am I to say? I just want to know if people out there are going to add Websphere to enhance their existing Domino environment. A real survey would be great to catch the trend of how many companies are seriously moving in that direction.
